Tucker’s journey started with a bad stomachache around 11:00PM in May of 2013, and we rushed to Batson ER when it wasn’t getting any better. After several tests in the ER, we were told he had a case of Malrotation, a condition where the intestines get wrapped around themselves and lose blood supply. By 3:00 am, Tucker was in surgery and had over 120 centimeters of small intestine removed. After 2 surgeries, 3 nights in the PICU, and another 5 weeks in the hospital gettinghis nutrition levels back on track, we finally got to take him home! Despite dietary restrictions and routine visits to Batson Children’s Hospital, Tucker hasn’t skipped a beat. He loves drawing, playing with toy cars, and watching baseball. Tucker is also a fan of all superheroes, but the Hulk is his all-time favorite.
