At the age of four, Felton was diagnosed with mitochondrial myopathy, a disease that causes muscle weakness and makes physical activity challenging. When Felton was younger, he wore leg braces to help him walk. Felton will have orthopedic surgery at Batson Children’s Hospital in December to help correct some of his walking issues. With help from seven different specialists at Children’s of Mississippi, Felton is improving with supplements, supportive therapies, and lots of exercise and activity. There is no cure, but Felton has remained stable. He loves to play soccer and golf and enjoys riding his bike with his neighborhood friends.
