Mary Ellis Cravey
Mary Ellis has such a remarkable outlook on life for someone who has endured so much. In 2012, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She spent nearly three years battling this horrible disease, but even in the midst of her treatment, she was thinking of others. “Somebody is always going to have it worse than I do” says Mary Ellis, which is why she faces each day with a cheerful attitude to encourage and inspire other kids like her.
Thankfully, Mary Ellis is now cancer-free and enjoys singing, film class, and – like any teenager – hanging out with her friends. One day, she wants to become a pediatrician and help children with blood diseases and cancers. With her optimistic spirit, there’s no doubt she’ll succeed!
